Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know if I need an IAQ audit?
A: If anyone in your home has unexplained respiratory symptoms, allergies, headaches, or fatigue that improve when you leave home — that’s the clearest signal. Other triggers: recent renovation, musty odors, visible moisture or mold, wildfire smoke events, or simply wanting a baseline for a new home.
Q: What does an IAQ audit include?
A: Our standard audit measures particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), CO2 and CO levels, relative humidity and temperature, and HVAC airflow rates. We also conduct a FLIR thermal imaging scan. You receive a written report with all findings and recommendations.
Q: How long does an audit take?
A: Most residential audits take 2-3 hours depending on home size.
Q: Do you test for mold?
A: We test for the moisture conditions, humidity levels, and structural risk factors that cause mold growth. If our assessment indicates a mold problem, we document it and refer you to appropriate specialists.
Q: Do you test for radon?
A: We include a radon risk assessment in every audit — identifying structural risk factors and likely entry points.
Q: Can you test for wildfire smoke?
A: Yes. We measure PM2.5 fine particles as part of every standard audit.
Q: Are you a duct cleaning company?
A: No. We are IAQ consultants. Our Tier 2 service includes HVAC blower cleaning through our certified partner network.
Q: How much does everything cost?
A: Tier 1 starts at $499. Tier 2 starts at $899. Tier 3 starts at $1,499. Annual maintenance $149-$199/year. Commercial by quote. $75 off Tier 1 for new clients.
Q: Do you serve commercial buildings?
A: Yes — offices, retail, schools, multi-unit residential, and industrial facilities throughout Anchorage.
Q: Why hire a local company rather than a national firm?
A: We live in Anchorage. We understand Alaska’s wildfire smoke patterns, radon geology, cold-climate construction, and the specific challenges of homes sealed eight or more months per year.
